Cupping Therapy
Cupping is a technique used to stimulate acupuncture points or larger areas of the body and it helps the blood and qi to flow more easily in areas of stagnation.
Traditional cupping involves lighting a flame in the glass cup and as the flame goes out, the cup is placed upside down on your skin. As the air inside the cup cools, it creates a vacuum.
This causes your skin to rise and redden as your blood vessels expand. A more modern version of cupping uses a rubber pump instead of fire to create the vacuum.
